Christmas Storage
Despite what your Instagram feed/ Amazon account tells you, you do not need to buy flashy bespoke storage to make sorting Christmas decorations well!
Here are my top tips!
Use saved food packaging. Yup I have used old Indian takeaway containers to store my gifting items!
Label, label, label. Your memory might be amazing but make life easier for yourself and label everything! If the fairy lights fit best on the banisters then write a note to yourself and attach it to them so you can be reminded for next year. If you brought a present in the sale for Uncle Bob but don’t need it until next Christmas, label it and store it with the decorations.
Store decorations in boxes per room. For example, “Kitchen”, “Dining Room” and “Bathroom”. Bathroom I hear you say? Yup I have a Christmas shower curtain!
Use a strong piece of cardboard to wrap your lights around (old advent calendars work really well), this will make unravelling next year much easier!
One thing I would recommend investing in is sturdy plastic boxes to store your decorations in. Our favourite brand can be expensive but they are strong, stackable, waterproof (not sure about mould proof). Click here to see the full range
