When a loved one buys you a present, why are they buying it for you?

To treat you
Because it reminded them of you
Once it is in your possession, it is up to you what you do with that item.
Controversial opinion… it is OK to donate it.
You still felt loved and appreciate the act of them gifting it to you. Don’t store it in your home because of the guilt.
